Bloodwood (Cardinal Wood) can be polished to a gorgeous deep red finish. The wood we use is bright red accented at times with variegated streaks of pale yellow. The grain is very fine adding to its beauty as well as its ability to stand up to hard use. It is very hard (2900 on Janka scale) - meaning it takes almost 3000 lbs of pressure to push a marble sized steel ball to half way its diameter. It is also very dense. It grows throughout much of tropical South America.
